Ávila is near Segovia and is a small and charming city entirely locked up by its perfectly conserved medieval walls. The Walls of Ávila are much more that a simple warlike defensive structure. In fact, they are as a book; a book where the history of Ávila and its people is reflected. Besides explaining the city, the Walls have been an active and determining factor in the configuration of the urbanism of Ávila and in the distribution of the urban space of the diverse social groups throughout history.
