Comunidad Valenciana (2)

In more contemporary Valencia, the IVAM (Valencian Institute of Modern Art) is a great museum that should not be passed by by lovers of new art tendencies. The City of the Arts and Sciences, in the Turia river channel, has become famous for its vanguard architecture (of local architect Santiago Calatrava). Valencia is also recognized for its nightlife. El Carmen District, located in the historical heart of the city, is the main zone to go out. Bohemian tradition and modernity coexist in these streets.

Benidorm is the capital of international Mediterranean tourism and is located on the White Coast. In this tourist city full of skyscrapers it is possible to enjoy the good climate of Marina Baja, as well as the entertainment in numerous discotheques, restaurants and other spectacles. On the other hand, near the city, the Terra Mitica theme park is located, a perfect place for family fun.

Near Alicante is San Juan, a vast open beach, with a length of about 7 km. El Campello, with 23 kilometres of beaches, is another option to consider. There are other long beaches as well, like those of Denia in the Alicante province. And if one prefers more quiet family vacations, Javea or Altea are attractive options.

On the Alicante White Coast one can enjoy a very active nightlife but it is also possible to make excursions towards the valleys and the inner mountains. Sports resources are varied: more than 10 nautical sports ports are located in the most outstanding tourist towns: Torrevieja, Santa Pola, Villajoyosa, Benidorm, Altea and Denia.
