Castilla y León (3)

Salamanca is well-known to have the oldest university in Spain and one of the most prestigious ones. Its student and cosmopolitan atmosphere is ideal for visitors, forming the right place to learn the Spanish language. The city of Salamanca is a museum of streets and buildings around the gorgeous Plaza Mayor, with its impressive collection of gothic, plateresque and baroque buildings, like its two universities, the House of Shells, the Clergy or the historical building of the University, whose facade, worked meticulously like a piece of silver work, holds a mystery that occupies all that see it for the first time, and look for its famous frog.

Segovia is another indispensable city to visit. Its Roman aqueduct is one of the jewels of Spanish historical architecture. On the other hand, its extraordinary Alcazar Palace is one of the most beautiful castle fortresses in Europe and its gothic Cathedral stands out because of its streamlined and proportionate figure. Near Segovia is Avila, a small and charming city entirely locked in by its perfectly conserved medieval walls.
