Monuments of Huesca

Huesca Cathedral: it was built in 1354. It includes a magnificent altar of alabaster. The cloister and the bell are from XV century.

Church of St Peter: It was erected between 1100 and 1241. It is one of the oldest Romanesque monuments in the region. It was rebuilt in XVII century.

Church of St Laurence: it was built in 1606 under a popular subscription. You will discover the Vicente Berdusan and Jiusepe Martinez’s paintings.

Church of St Miguel: it was an ancient monastery which was called las Miguelas because it was occupied by the Carmelite. 

Sanctuary of Salas: it is situated in the Huertas district. The Virgin of Salas is often quoted in the canticles of Alfonso X el Sabio.

Town hall: From the Renaissance, this palace was built between the XVI and XVII century. You can see the « Bell of Huesca from the XIX century. It was built on the foundations of an ancient city which was created by Quinto Sertorio.
Watchtower of Guara: You can observe the pick of Pozal de Guara (2077m height). It is the highest pick of the region.
University of Huesca: it was the first university and the most important between XIV and XIX century. It was built in 1354 and closed in 1845.
Real Palace University: this factory was renovated several times between XIII and XIV century.

Museums

Archeological Museum: it is a modern building which shelters the archeological ruins of the region and a collection of paintings and frescos of the primitive and gothic art.
Catedralicio Diocesano Museum: 2 rooms deal with medieval art. You will find important masterpieces as wall paintings of Bierge.
Contemporaneous Art Center of Aragon: it was created by Rafael Moneo. You will discover the Legado Beulas.
