Andalucia (3)

If you are looking for Roman ruins you can go to Acinipo in the neighbourhood of Ronda, with its I century theatre, or to Medina Sidonia, in the Cadiz province. The ruins of the Roman city of Italica, are, nevertheless, the most important in the region.

But not only the bigger cities offer varied art and culture. The White Towns are another way to experience the culture of this region. In most of them you will find castles and beautiful villas have not been discovered yet by mass tourism. These are places where you can leave aside the stress of everyday life, and enjoy the calm streets. At night, nevertheless, you can go to a flamenco show to enjoy the art of the music and dance that are so characteristic in southern Spain. In truth, this is an experience that will fill you with great energy.

The “Costa del Sol” (Sun Coast) extends to almost all of Mediterranean Andalusia, from Almeria to Tarifa, and is the biggest tourist concentration in the region, mainly due to its good beaches and so peculiar cities. The main city is Malaga, a few kilometres from the tourist cities of Marbella and Torremolinos. But it is still possible to find beaches that are not congested too much. East from the “Costa del Sol” is the province of Almeria. The capital, with the same name, was a Roman port and has houses in Arab style.
